Description: SLUGTANK was inspired by the legendary 16bit playstation game, METALSLUG.
Focusing on the form and strength of aesthetics, style and distortion, with a little touch of good
old time when gaming on the console.
On the 18 of February 2012, DarkRoom Army launches its first line of camera, the FED 5B.
Along with 5 Singaporean artists, ANTZ, ZERO, CLOGTWO, MINDFLYER and WANTON DOODLE
and not forgetting, Tara Mcpherson exhibiting their custom camera docks designed by PHU!
THE MAKING OF THE SLUG
Our job is to customize a camera dock for the FED 5B designed and crafted by hand by PHU! The theme was to recreate a representation of military concept.
So what I did was to create a tank out of found and recycled objects. I managed to savage some old toys,
graffiti spray can nozzles and wires. To top it off, a coat of olive green, dry brushing and
decal stencil was done to make a battle damaged feel to the dock. Here are some work in progress
